Record Student Involvement at Coronado Schools Foundation FOR 19th Annual 2007 Telethon - March 28
CORONADO – March 14 -- The 19th Annual Coronado Schools Foundation Telethon, presented by Time Warner Cable, will be held live from Village Hall at Village Elementary on Wednesday, March 28, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The Telethon will star students from Coronado Unified School District with over 30 acts based on this year’s theme “Celebrating 50 Years of Music.” Bill “Mr. Telethon” Sandke and Jane Mitchell will be returning as our esteemed hosts along with roving reporter, Fred Eckert. “With significant budget cuts looming over our public schools, it is rewarding to see more students than ever participating in this year’s Telethon demonstrating support for their schools,” said Toni Aden, foundation president. “Bill Putnam, the show’s producer for Time Warner Cable, has put in an extraordinary amount of time, effort and creativity in working with these students. We are looking forward to a more entertaining show than ever this year and hope to have a large turnout at Village Hall.”
Local businesses without whose generous sponsorship and support we would not be able to produce this Telethon include Time Warner Cable; Martial Arts of America; Mootime, Beach-n-Diner and Village Pizzeria; Kennedy Publishing Company, publishers of The Coronado Telephone Book, “The Kennedy Book”; Willis Allen Real Estate; the Hotel del Coronado; Wells Fargo; The Frensdorff Group; Chicago Title Company; Washington Mutual; and Nicolls Design.
Featured in this year’s Telethon are Senior Hosts Kylie Cusick, Danielle Eckert, Loren Metzger, Matt Oakley, and Scott Shepherd who will provide Midweek Updates from the news desk and various field locations. Barbecued food will be provided with proceeds to benefit the CHS 2007 Senior Class. The Telethon will air live on TWC’s Channel 19. Pre-pledges for the Telethon are welcome at www.csfkids.org.
