Proceed from HUMMER H3 Electric Car to Benefit Coronado Public School Children

These five families have generously underwritten the Hummer H3 Electric Car pictured that one lucky winner will drive home in at the October 13th CSF Gala:  From left to right:  Joe and Caylee Pinsonneault, David and Camille Boatwright, Bret Boatwright, Wanda and Scott Aurich, and Aileen and Daryl Oya. CORONADO, August 29 - One lucky winner’s name will be drawn to walk away with the keys to a red 2007 HUMMER H3 electric golf car at the 23rd Annual Coronado Schools Foundation (CSF) Dinner Auction Gala on October 13th at the Hotel del Coronado.  “We are thrilled that every ticket sold will directly benefit Coronado’s public school children thanks to the generosity of five families who stepped forward to underwrite the $13,000 electric car,” commented Dinner Auction Chair, Wanda Aurich.  “Along with my husband Scott, Angela and Clay Stanley, Caylee and Joe Pinsonneault, Aileen and Daryl Oya, and Camille and David Boatwright graciously took on this challenge to underwrite the vehicle in order to maximize the return to Coronado’s public schools,” she added.

“This is a perfect vehicle for Coronado and I know the lucky winner will enjoy driving the Hummer H3 as much as I enjoy driving mine,” commented Scott Aurich. “It costs pennies to charge at night and is a great addition to any family’s garage.”  Like the one Scott drives around town, the Hummer H3 for the Opportunity Drawing is street legal, seats four, sports a CD player, and license and registration fees are included.  Tickets ($100/one; $250/three or $500/seven) are available at the CSF office at 201 Sixth Street in the CUSD office complex, via the Foundation’s Web site at www.csfkids.org, and weekly at the Concert in the Park on Sunday nights where the Hummer H3 will be on display.  In addition, tickets will be sold at participating real estate offices and local merchants.

Also at this year’s event, you can ‘look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two’ generously donated by Holland’s Bicycles.  The Diamondback Wildwood
24-speed tandem comes with a custom accessory package which includes a lock, bell, and baskets.  Tickets are just $10/one or $30/five and the tandem is perfect for the Gala’s theme of Music, Madness & All That Jazz: An Evening in Tent City.  The lucky winner and date can drive away on this bike or enjoy an $800 gift certificate thanks to the generosity of Holland’s Owners, Tyler Rowden and Eddie Warner.

“With these drawings in addition to the ticket sales, silent and live auctions and fund an item opportunity at the gala, we hope to break last year’s record of $158,000 net from the benefit event,” added Wanda.  “And this year’s Dinner Auction is sure to be a sellout with just 500 tickets available for the gala and a limited number for the champagne reception.”  To receive an invitation to the Dinner Auction, find out about a limited number of business partnerships still available, or to purchase a drawing ticket, please call 437-8059 or e-mail csf@csfkids.org.
